CUET to Host MIE Industrial Tech Carnival 2025 in Collaboration with Southern IoT

Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) is set to host the “MIE Industrial Tech Carnival 2025” on July 17–18, organized by the Department of Mechatronics and Industrial Engineering (MIE) in collaboration with Southern IoT Limited. The event will feature a lineup of activities, including an Industrial Techathon, a seminar on Industry 4.0 for the garments sector, and job opportunities for MIE students.

Details of the event were shared at a press conference held on June 23 (Monday) in the Syndicate Hall of CUET. Speaking at the event, Professor Dr. Prosenjit Das, Head of the Department of Mechatronics and Industrial Engineering, outlined the carnival’s highlights.

He announced that the seminar on Industry 4.0 for the Garments Sector, scheduled for July 17, will be attended by Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan, Vice Chancellor of CUET, as the chief guest. Professor Dr. Kazi Afzalur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at CUET, and Rakib Chowdhury, CEO of Southern IoT Limited, will be present as special guests.

Md. Ariful Islam, CTO and Head of Research and Development at Southern IoT Limited, will serve as the keynote speaker. The seminar will be presided over by Professor Dr. Prosenjit Das, Head of the MIE Department. Southern IoT Limited will also sponsor the event.

The press conference was attended by Dr. Humayun Kabir, Monowar Wadud Hriday, and Lecturer Imran Hossain of the MIE Department, along with Md. Ariful Islam of Southern IoT Limited, representing the organizing and sponsoring bodies.

The MIE Industrial Tech Carnival 2025 aims to foster academic-industry collaboration, equip students with industry-relevant skills, and spotlight the role of technological innovation in transforming the garments sector under the framework of Industry 4.0.
