Bangladesh is set to showcase its growing semiconductor capabilities on the global stage through “US Roadshow 2026,” a nationwide technology outreach initiative across the United States aimed at strengthening connections between the country’s emerging semiconductor industry and the global technology ecosystem.

Jointly organized by the Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association-BSIA, Silicon River, and Brain Gain, the roadshow is being viewed as a significant diplomatic and technological effort for Bangladesh’s semiconductor sector.

Scheduled to run from June 5 to June 13, the program will bring together industry leaders, universities, research institutions, investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and Bangladeshi technology professionals working around the world. The delegation is being led by M. A. Jabbar and Muhammad Mostafa Hussain, alongside representatives from industry, academia, the Brain Gain network, and the Embassy of Bangladesh in Washington, D.C..

The roadshow will begin in Austin, where the delegation will meet leading semiconductor companies to discuss workforce development, industry-academia collaboration, investment opportunities, and future partnerships. Subsequent events will include multiple Brain Gain networking sessions involving Bangladeshi-origin technology experts, researchers, and entrepreneurs, aimed at connecting global expertise with Bangladesh’s development aspirations.

A key component of the tour will be visits to Arizona State University, research institutions, and major technology companies in Silicon Valley. Discussions will focus on chip design, advanced manufacturing technologies, research collaboration, innovation, and technology entrepreneurship. The delegation will also engage with Bangladeshi technology professionals abroad to explore future workforce development strategies and international cooperation opportunities.

One of the roadshow’s flagship events will be the Brain Gain Banquet Reception on June 11 in Silicon Valley. The gathering will bring together Bangladeshi-origin executives, researchers, professors, and technology entrepreneurs working in leading global organizations. Organizers believe the event will provide a unique platform to highlight Bangladesh’s talent and capabilities within the international technology sector.

Toward the end of the program, the delegation will visit Berkeley SkyDeck and several innovation-focused institutions to discuss technology commercialization, startup investment, entrepreneurship development, and strategies for transforming research into market-ready products. The roadshow will conclude on June 13 with a closing event in Portland.

Speaking about the initiative, M. A. Jabbar emphasized that Bangladesh’s greatest strength lies in its human capital. He noted that Silicon River and Brain Gain are working to connect global expertise, knowledge, and leadership with the country’s future technology ambitions. According to him, the initiative will create new opportunities for future generations and help position Bangladesh as a significant participant in the global technology economy.

Professor Muhammad Mostafa Hussain said the future of Bangladesh’s semiconductor industry depends on skilled talent, international partnerships, and long-term collaboration. He added that the roadshow will strengthen ties among industry, universities, entrepreneurs, investors, and expatriate Bangladeshis, creating new opportunities for knowledge exchange, innovation, employment, and technological advancement.

Technology analysts note that semiconductors have become one of the primary drivers of the global economy in the age of artificial intelligence, advanced chip design, robotics, and high-tech manufacturing. In this context, direct engagement with leading US technology hubs could open new avenues for Bangladesh’s emerging technology sector, particularly in research, chip design, advanced packaging, AI, and technology entrepreneurship.
