CUET Civil Engineering Seeks BAETE Seal: Accreditation Assessment Advances

The authorities of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) have held a meeting to secure accreditation from the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE), the principal body responsible for ensuring the quality of engineering education in Bangladesh, for the university’s BSc program in the Department of Civil Engineering.

The meeting was held on April 26, Sunday morning, in the CUET Syndicate Room with an External Review Team. Leading the session on behalf of CUET were Vice-Chancellor (Routine Responsibility) and Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Professor Dr. Kazi Afzalur Rahman. Also present from CUET were Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering Professor Dr. Kazi Delwar Hossain; Dean of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering Professor Dr. Asiful Haque; Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Planning Professor Dr. Muhammad Rashidul Hasan; Registrar (Additional Responsibility) Professor Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Humayun Kabir; Head of the Department of Civil Engineering Professor Dr. Md. Riaz Akhtar Mallik; Director of IQAC Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman Bhuiya; and Comptroller Mr. Md. Shafiqul Islam.

Representing BAETE were Professor Dr. Shakil Mohammad Rifat, Head of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Islamic University of Technology (IUT); Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at Bangladesh Army University of Science and Technology (BAUST), Dr. Md. Mahmudul Hasan; and Additional Chief Engineer of the Roads and Highways Department, Dr. Md. Abdullah Al Mamun (PEng).
