DMTCL Bans Unauthorized Photography and Filming at Metro Rail Stations
The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has completely prohibited taking photographs, recording videos, or creating any type of content without prior permission within the areas of the electric mass transit Metro Rail stations.
The notice was published on the DMTCL website on Wednesday, February 25. Earlier, the directive was issued through a warning notice signed by AKM Khairul Alam, Director (Administration) of DMTCL.
According to the notice, no short video recording, YouTube or social media broadcasting, commercial or personal photography, live streaming, or any form of shooting activities may be conducted without prior approval from the authorities in Metro station areas, including platforms, concourses, entry and exit points, inside trains, and related facilities.
It was further stated that failure to comply with the directive would result in administrative and legal action in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Those seeking permission for commercial shooting, video recording, or photography within areas under the jurisdiction of the Metro Rail must apply following the prescribed procedure.
