Elon Musk-led Tesla has hinted at a new event scheduled for Tuesday, October 7, fueling speculation that the company may unveil a low-cost electric vehicle aimed at sustaining strong sales momentum, according to TechCrunch.

On Sunday, Tesla shared a nine-second video on social media platform X, showing a car’s illuminated headlights against a dark background. The clip concluded with the text “10/7,” suggesting the event will take place on Tuesday.

Analysts note that Tesla had previously planned to launch a more affordable version of the Model Y in the United States, which could be produced at roughly 20% lower cost. The company stated that while the first units are already manufactured, sales would begin in the fourth quarter, with production gradually ramping up.

Tesla set a record for vehicle deliveries in the September quarter, largely driven by a rush to benefit from U.S. tax credits before their expiration. Analysts now suggest that with the cessation of the tax incentives, the company may adjust its pricing strategy.
