‘Aam Mela’, the ‘Mango Fair’ started in Chapainawabganj, known as the capital of mangoes, with the target of selling Tk. 5 crores worth of mangoes online this season. The Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated the fair as the chief guest at the entrepreneurs’ conference organized by the Nijer BolarMoto Golpo Foundation on Saturday.
He urged to establish the entrepreneurial life in home and abroad by using branding of local products, skill development, use of new technology and creativity.
At the outset of the program, the entrepreneurs presented their stories of success and struggles.
Among the entrepreneurs who participated in the fair, the state minister conveyed four good news besides donating 50 thousand taka to 20 women entrepreneurs within the next one month.
Iqbal Bahar Zahid, the founder president of the Nijer BolarMoto Golpo Foundation, said that two and a half crore worth of mangoes was sold from the mango fair in Chapainawabganj last year. And next year’s mango fair will be held in Natore.
Rajshahi Member of Parliament Alhaj Md Abdul Wadud Dara, Chapainawabganj Member of Parliament Samil Uddin Ahmed Shimul, MP Ferdowsi Islam Jessy from reserved women’s seat, Chapainawabganj Zilla Parishad Chairman Ruhul Amin and Deputy Commissioner AKM Ghalib Khan and District Police Superintendent AHM Abdur Rakib spoke.
ISPAB President Imdadul Haque, Chaldal CEO Zia Ashraf, women entrepreneur Zara Jabin Mahbub, E-Commerce Lead Rezwanul Haque Jami and others were present.
