The State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, we have to prepare the future generation to build a developed, modern and humane world by utilizing the power of education. He pointed out that the current generation will lead the smart Bangladesh of 2041 and said that the qualified leadership of the future is hidden in the students of today.
The Minister of State opined so while speaking as the Chief Guest in the online distribution ceremony of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s gift tablet device among the 9th and 10th class meritorious students of Singra government and MPO-affiliated secondary schools and equivalent madrasas.
The State Minister said that the students should take responsibility in building a smart Bangladesh announced by the Prime Minister and students should be inspired with intelligent, economical, creative and innovative mentality. He said that we are establishing Hi-Tech Park, Sheikh Kamal IT Incubation Center, Joy D-SET Center so that today’s students do not have to go to cities and abroad for employment. In the last 14 years in the ICT sector, 2 million jobs have been created in freelancing, hardware and software services sector. Nowadays freelancers are earning foreign currency from home using high speed internet, technology support and talent. He said that this has become possible due to the implementation of Digital Bangladesh.
Palak emphasized the importance of students to use the Sheikh Russell Digital Lab. ICT training will be given to 4 teachers of the schools in which Sheikh Russell Digital Lab is available. He said Bangabandhu used to say that education is not an expense but an investment. Following the philosophy of Bangabandhu, 318 tablets are being distributed to the students. With these tablets, the students will use it for the needs of the country and world humanity besides gaining knowledge.
Singra Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mahmuda Khatun presided over the event while Secondary Education Officers, representatives of Singra Statistics Department, school madrasa teachers and students were present among others.
