The Swiss Ambassador to Bangladesh Nathalie Chuard visited Jessore University of Science and Technology (JUST). During her visited various buildings, laboratories, several projects made by teachers and students. She visited Just on the joint invitation of the university’s Industrial Production Engineering (IPE) department and Switzerland-based development organization SwissContact.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Swiss Ambassador and her entourage travelled for JUST by road via Padma Bridge. Arriving at JUST, the university’s vice-chancellor professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain and senior teachers and officials of the university welcomed them.
A courtesy call was held between the two parties at the office of JUST Vice-Chancellor in the administrative building of the university at two pm. At this time, JUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain welcomed the Ambassador of Switzerland and informed her that the JUST has been moving forward in the field of education and research. State-of-the-art laboratories have been developed to make teachers and students interested in research. With the support of your country, the research of this university will go further. At present, the Industrial and Production Engineering Department of JUST is supporting the local small and medium industries in various ways. We believe, in the future, this Department will acquire the capacity to manufacture heavy industrial machinery as well.
Swiss Ambassador to Bangladesh Nathalie Chuard visited various buildings and laboratories of the university at 3 pm. When she reached Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Academic Building of the University, she saw ‘Royal Plug’, ‘Bump Rubber of Motorcycle’, ‘PVC Pipe Joint’ and ‘Brake Pedal’ made by the students of Industrial and Production Engineering Department and the Automated Plant Water Distribution System’ and ‘Solid Visit various projects including Fertilizer Spreader Machine. Later she visited various state-of-the-art labs and workshops of the IPE Department. The Ambassador of Switzerland expressed her satisfaction at the progress in education and research of JUST. At the same time, she mentioned her country’s cooperation in JUST’s education and research.
