Video conferencing service Zoom has agreed to pay $ 86 million to settle a user privacy breach. However, the Zoom authorities have denied the allegations against them.
The BBC reported on Monday that despite denying the crime, the Zoom authorities have agreed to strengthen their security.
A Zoom spokesperson said: “Protecting users’ privacy and security is a top priority for Zoom. We try our best to protect the trust that users have in us.”
Earlier, in March 2020, a lawsuit was filed against Zoom in a district court in Northern California. There are allegations that Zoom has violated the privacy of millions of users by sharing users’ personal information on Facebook, Google and LinkedIn.
Zoom agreed to work with the information and provide special training to their staff on privacy in the initial mediation of the case hearing. However, it must be approved by the District Judge of San Jose, California.
