Dorsey founded Bluesky in 2019. In order for Twitter to change to an open-source framework, the platform’s internal team was working. However, by 2022, this situation changed and Bluesky emerged as an independent company.
Dorsey was initially an active user of Bluesky. After Musk bought Twitter, many of the platform’s users opened accounts on Bluesky.
Dorsey deleted his Bluesky account last September. Last Saturday, he announced a donation of 5 million dollars to crypto-based social network ‘Nostr’ and 2 million dollars to charity ‘Startsmall’.
In a tweet, Dorsey said, ‘Don’t rely on a corporation to enforce your rights. Protect yourself by using independent technology.’
