There are very few people who do not use WhatsApp among smartphone and Internet users! Apart from chatting or video calling, people also use this instant messaging app for various tasks. That’s why its popularity is constantly increasing. However, many people are also facing problems through WhatsApp. Users are cheated in various ways through fake accounts.
Because of that, WhatsApp authorities have recently been forced to ban hundreds of thousands of accounts.
According to WhatsApp’s monthly compliance report, Meta banned more than 71 lakh WhatsApp accounts in India. The agency banned around 71,11,000 accounts in India in a span of about a month between September 1 and 23 following the IT Rules 2011. Around 25,71,000 banned accounts have been actively blocked due to no reports from users.
This instant messaging platform currently has around 500 million users in India. Among them, they received complaints against about 10,442 accounts last September. Besides, there were some complaints from last month. WhatsApp itself took action against the remaining accounts.
