“BACCO Members Meet-2024” was held initiated by the Bangladesh Association of Contact Center and Outsourcing (BACCO), at Gulshan Celebrity Center in the capital on Saturday. Members of the 12-member new executive committee for the term 2024-2026 spoke at this annual meeting held with the participation of entrepreneurial members from various fields of business outsourcing.
Re-elected President Digicon Technologies PLC Managing Director Wahid Sharif presided over the program, while the General Secretary of BACCO and the FIFOTEC Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Touhid Hossain conducted the program.
The senior Vice-president of the executive council and the chairman of Times ASL Call Center Limited Md. Abul Khair; Vice President Automation Solutions Bangladesh Country Director Tanveer Ibrahim; Joint General Secretary My Outsourcing Limited Managing Director Md. Tanjirul Basar and Finance Secretary Impel Service and Solutions Limited Managing Director Mohammad Aminul Haque briefed the members about their duties.
In addition, six directors: the managing director and chief executive officer of Enroute International Limited, Abu Dawood Khan; the founder and chief executive officer of Skytech Solutions Musnad E Ahmed; the chairman of Noble IT Solutions Limited Fazlul Haque; Director of Virtual Market Solutions Limited Abdul Quader; Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ayesha Services Limited (ASL BPO) Zayed Uddin Ahmed and Director of MonsterLab Enterprise Solutions Limited Mehdi Hasan Zulfikar spoke on the occasion.
While speaking as the chief guest, the State Minister for Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak demanded to extend the corporate tax holiday facility of the country’s information technology sector for another seven years i.e. till 2031. He said, we have already invested 100 crore taka in more than 50 companies through Startup Bangladesh Ltd. and another 500 crore taka will be invested in the next 5 years. We have been giving corporate tax exemption to the IT sector from 2018 to 2024, which expires in June this year. I have strongly requested all concerned to extend its tenure till 2031 to accelerate the development of IT sector.
Addressing the members of BACCO, he said that in the coming days, in order to implement the goal given to us by honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to build a smart Bangladesh in 2041, we need to build smart citizens, smart economy, smart government and smart social system. In the next 17 years, BACCO members and entrepreneurs will have to build capacity in new sectors. They have to take steps considering the whole world including Bangladesh as a business area.
While speaking as the special guest, Brigadier General Kazi Mustafizur Rahman, SPP, NDC, PSC, Director General of Engineering and Operations Department of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) said, “Congratulations to the new Executive Committee of BACCO. BTRC will continue its all-out cooperation in the future as did in the past for the expansion of the BPO industry. I believe, if everyone tries from their own places, it is possible to use the power of technology to achieve the goal of ‘Smart Bangladesh’ of the Bangladesh government.

Earlier, in his welcome speech, BACCO President Waheed Sharif said that the BPO industry aims to achieve 1 billion US dollars in revenue and create 1 lakh jobs by 2025. We need your cooperation to overcome all obstacles to achieve this goal. I hope that this newly elected committee for the period of 2024-2026 will continue their all efforts in the expansion of this industry, if we all work unitedly then it is possible to build the ‘Smart Bangladesh’, declared by the honorable Prime Minister soon.
BACCO General Secretary Touhid Hossain said, “One of the industries included in the IT sector is ‘Business Process Outsourcing (BPO’), which has already become an ever-growing industry generating revenues of US$ 800 million annually through the export of services to the international market. The number of human resources currently working in the BPO industry is 80000+; 40 percent of whom are women. BACCO is working tirelessly with numerous organizations and stakeholders at the public, private and international levels to achieve the “Smart Bangladesh 2041” goal set by the Bangladesh Government, in addition to generating 1 billion US dollars in revenue and creating 1 lakh jobs in the BPO industry by 2025. BACCO has also taken multifaceted programs to meet the targets”.
