Vivo has announced their first self-developed operating system ‘BlueOS’. The company first announced the launch of this operating system during the ‘Vivo Developer Conference 2023’ held this year. At the same time, it was reported that they started working on BlueOS in 2018 with the aim of removing the limitations of the Android app ecosystem.
One of the special features of Vivo BlueOS is that it is the world’s first operating system based on Rust programming language.
Vivo BlueOS mainly focuses on three things, these are – user data safety, smart interaction and smooth user experience.
According to Vivo’s statement, this new operating system is specially designed for multi-modal interaction and artificial intelligence or AI models. Due to which it is able to respond – voice, image, text, video, gesture, sign language, even brainwave based. In addition, BlueOS will allow users to automatically write code, customize home screens, select wallpapers, themes, and more.
The BlueOS operating system is designed to run on a variety of devices, ranging from a 200 MHz processor with 32 MB RAM to a 4 GHz processor with 24 MB RAM. Hence this OS will be able to run on smart home appliances as well as smart wearable devices.
Vivo said the Vivo Watch 3 will be the first device to run the new BlueOS. This upcoming smartwatch will be unveiled on November 13 along with the Vivo S100 smartphone series. It is known to have many other significant features including automatic watch face, NFC car key, access and transport card support.
