CES, the world’s largest technology fair, has always something to surprise the tech lovers. Samsung has launched the world’s first transparent microLED display TV in this event. News S News.
Samsung has not yet released any information about the possible price of this new MicroLED display TV or when the technology will be available in the market. However, in this event, Samsung has shown as many as three different designs of transparent microLED display TVs. Two of these demo units feature tinted glass, making it easy to avoid any potentially distracting objects behind the display panel.
Samsung claims that the new TV with a microLED display looks as transparent as normal glass, while also having the advantage of a frameless design. On the other hand, the functionality or benefits of Samsung’s transparent OLED display TVs are difficult to explain directly. Because when the content of the microLED display appears on the screen, the content looks like a hologram or a virtual image. Meanwhile, the thickness of this microLED TV is about one centimeter without any structural support, which makes the TV screen look more aesthetic than ever.
Apart from this, the picture of this TV also looks much more vibrant and sharp due to the high pixel density of OLED. Also, as the brightness of the new microLED TV display is higher than that of OLED TV, there is less risk of the TV’s ambient light affecting the viewer.
