South Korean electronics giant Samsung has cut off ties with Chinese firm BOE. The display maker has been dropped from Samsung’s list of suppliers. Samsung has said that this decision has been taken mainly due to allegations of patent fraud and theft of information in trade. News The Korea Herald.
BOE is China’s largest display manufacturer. One of the leading suppliers of Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). The company has supplied 10 percent of Samsung’s TV panels in the first half of 2023.
Recently, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics filed a complaint against Samsung Display BOE in the US International Trade Commission (ITC).
Experts believe that the severing of ties will have a significant impact on the Chinese company’s business. BOE has long considered Samsung as a top customer.
