Bangladesh Bank has revoked the license of the payment gateway company Walletmix Limited for doing illegal transactions. As a result of this, from now on, no institution including bank-financial institutions will be able to transact with Walletmix.
On Monday (November 20), an instruction regarding this has been given from the Payment Systems Department of Bangladesh Bank.
In this context, Bangladesh Bank Executive Director and Spokesperson. “Walletmix has done illegal transactions,” said Mazbul Haque. Because of which the company’s license has been cancelled.
This directive of the central bank has been sent to the managing directors and chief executives of all scheduled banks, mobile financial services providers, payment system operators and payment service providers in the country.
It said, ‘Walletmix’s payment system operator license has been revoked to protect customer interests by virtue of the Bangladesh Payment Systems Regulations and in accordance with the terms of the license granted to Walletmix Limited.’
