Bangladesh on Wednesday kick-started the golden jubilee celebrations of independence from Pakistan. There has been a lot of success stories to the country’s crown since its Independence. These stories are models for many countries and societies across the world. Nagad, the digital financial service of the postal division, has chalked out plans to present some of the achievements to the people of the country.
These success stories will take their place in the initiative styled – BIJOY THEKE ORJONE (1971-2021 From Victory to Achievements). The accomplishments will be presented from Independence Day to Victory Day.
The country won Independence following the sacrifice of 30 lakh martyrs during the War of Liberation. The country’s commendable progress has been possible because of people’s earnest effort and their unconditional love for the country. As a result, the country is marching ahead at a record pace, overcoming countless difficulties. The Bangladesh Protidin, one of the most circulated newspapers in Bangladesh and television channel News24 are the media partners of the initiative of Nagad. The initiative will pick 50 out of Bangladesh’s numerous success stories that the countrymen are proud of and publish and air them.
The stories of winning maritime boundary dispute, sending a satellite to space, the Padma Multipurpose Bridge, the Karnaphuli river tunnel, and Dhaka Metro will be given a place in the list. There will be something in the list that has given a special space to Bangladesh on the world’s map and provided the citizens’ self-respect.
Speaking about the exceptional initiative, Nagad’s Managing Director Tanvir A Mishuk said, “The glorious War of Liberation acts as an inspiration for us to move forward. We are fortunate for the opportunity to work as a partner in the country’s journey forward. As part of the partnership, we will try to tell the extraordinary stories of the country on the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh. The success stories will make us proud as citizens of the country. At the same time, it will inspire us to transform Bangladesh into a developed country from a developing country.”
Mohammad A Arafat, chairman of the Suchinta Foundation, has joined with Nagad to make the initiative a success. Commenting on the whole event, he said, “Bangladesh has achieved a lot in the last 50 years by overcoming the history of deprivation and sacrifice through gaining independence in 1971. Through this initiative, some stories will be told under the initiative. And this event will make every patriotic citizen of Bangladesh proud.”
The outstanding success stories of various ministries and agencies will be highlighted. The achievement of Nagad, one of the most successful stories of the postal division in its 100 years of history, will be focused. Nagad has transformed itself into one of the fast-growing mobile financial services in the world by acquiring more than three and a half crore customers and channeling 400 crore taka daily in just two years.
