State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak has instructed BTRC to collect Tk 5,300 crore dues for spectrum allocation to Teletalk Bangladesh Limited. The state minister gave this order in the review meeting on the preparation of BTRC for the implementation of Smart Bangladesh held at BTRC on Wednesday.
The meeting highlighted BTRC’s smart operations as well as the arrears owed to Teletalk for spectrum allocation.
The State Minister Palak directed to implement active share with Banglalink and Robi in Teletalk network expansion to make Teletalk suitable for people’s aspirations. If this directive is implemented, Teletalk customers will get the opportunity to use the extensive network of Robi and Banglalink without investing a large amount of money in BTS.
The BTRC Commissioner and Director General were present in the meeting chaired by BTRC Chairman Engineer Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed.
The state minister also participated in the 22nd meeting of the Social Responsibility Fund Management Committee (SoF) with the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education and TBI and stakeholders to set up multimedia classrooms in primary schools in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communication Technology.
