Software Company Zendesk Inc. was sold to a group of private equity firms for $10.2 billion. On Tuesday Hellman & Friedman and Permira, a private equity firm, now own Zendesk. The deal was completed on Tuesday. News Reuters.
The sale netted Zendesk shareholders $77.50 per share in cash.
Proxy advisory firm Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) worked on the deal, which was approved by the partners last September.
San Francisco-based Zendesk moved to sell itself shortly after failing to buy Survey Monkey’s owner Momentive Global Inc. for $3.9 billion. However, the Momentive deal did not see the light of day due to lack of approval from Zendesk’s partners.
