The Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission has observed three days of mourning for three young scientists killed in a tragic road accident at Boliarpur in Savar. On the last day of mourning on Wednesday, a Dua’ Mahfil was held for the immediate recovery of 9 colleagues injured in the same incident.
Earlier, on June 7, a mourning meeting and prayer Mahfil for the salvation of the souls of the deceased was held at Dr. Anwar Hossain Auditorium at the head office of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission.
Minister of Science and Technology Architect Yeafesh Osman was the chief guest at the mourning-meeting and prayer Mahfil.
In the presence of senior secretary of the ministry Zeaul Hasan, prayers were offered for the souls of the deceased and speedy recovery of the injured.
In the meeting chaired by Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Md. Azizul Haque, every member of the commission, Director General, Directors, scientists, officers and staff representatives took part in the open discussion and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Scientists and officials / employees of the Commission’s Savar and Dhaka-based institutions, including the head office of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, took part in the mourning meeting and prayer Mahfil.
