Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mostafa Jabbar has been declared as the ‘Bijoy-Bandhu’ for his contribution to the innovation of Bangla language in technology. The announcement was made at the ‘Dinesh-Rabindra Letter Award of Mymensingh Geetika on the way to the centenary’ organized by Acharya Dinesh Chandra Sen Research Institute, India.
Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mostafa Jabbar, Member of Parliament Aroma Dutta, Director General of Bangla Academy Poet Nurul Huda, Litterateur Selina Hossain, Former Professor of Chittagong University Dr. Bikiron Prasad Barua, Dr. Dipankar Srigyan Barua and Nazrul researcher AFM Hayatullah were honored.
Devakandhya Sen, Dinesh Chandra Sen’s great-granddaughter and General Secretary of the Acharya Dinesh Chandra Sen Research Institute, India, presented the award to the awardees.
Md. Nizamul Karim, Director General of National Academy of Education Management was present at that time. HM Noman, a social development worker, called Mostafa Jabbar, the father of Bijoy Software, the ‘Bijoy-Bandhu’ for his contribution to the innovation of Bangla language in digital technology at the award ceremony held at the National Education Management Academy auditorium in Dhaka on Wednesday evening. Prominent personalities present on the stage including poet Nurul Huda and the audience filled the hall welcomed Mostafa Jabbar as the ‘Bijoy-Bandhu’ with applause. The Minister expressed his gratitude to all at this time.
He said, “Acharya Dinesh Chandra Sen Research Institute, India has blessed me with the honor. This honor given by you has not only honored me but also honored Bangladesh. I am accepting this honor with deep gratitude. I would like to express my deep gratitude to my government and personally to all concerned for rewarding this honor.”
He further said that Dinesh Chandra Sen has glorified the Bengalis by presenting the ancient folk literature of Bengal in the world court. He identified the talents, creativity and eloquence of the Bengalis by placing the history of the rich culture of Bengal in the world literature. We the people of this country are blessed to be the heirs of Dinesh Chandra. He said, “By re-publishing Mymensingh Geetika through Greater Mymensingh Cultural Forum, we have protected the invaluable resources of Bengalis.” I have collected Dinesh Chandra’s East Bengali lyric. The minister expressed strong hope that the Bangladesh version of the East Bengali lyricist would be published before the next book fair.
