Tech giant Google is acquiring Israeli technology company ‘Siemplify’ to increase the cyber security of the cloud division. Google made the announcement on Tuesday, but did not elaborate.
Alphabet Corporation has already paid $ 500 million to buy the technology company, according to a Reuters report. The idea is to attract more customers to Google’s cloud services.
Google says the ‘Siemplify’ platform will be added to its cloud service. It will leverage Google Cloud’s security capabilities.
When the prevalence of the COVID-19 increased in 2020, large organizations instructed their employees to work from home. This multiplies the use of Google’s cloud service. As a result, the company’s profits from this service increased to about $ 500 million. But clients have long focused on the security and safety of their information. For this reason, Google is also focusing on strengthening the security of its cloud services.
Google had earlier promised to invest $ 1 trillion in cyber security over the next five years to the US administration, following a spate of cyber-attacks that led to Google’s data theft. Following the promise, the tech giant announced the purchase of the Israeli technology company.
