State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that through telemedicine facilities in health centers, marginalized communities are getting specialist medical services and modern eye care services at village vision centers.
This was said by the state minister at the inauguration of the free eye care camp at Singra Damdama Pilot School and College ground in Natore on Friday morning. While speaking as the chief guest, Palak said that the money used to go outside for eye treatment of Singra, which is not happening now. We have brought medical care to the welfare of the people of Singra, courtesy of Al-Basar International Foundation. Now they don’t have to spend thousands of taka for going to Rajshahi or Dhaka in this purpose. Advanced medical services are being provided in Singra.
He also said that besides delivering services to the doorsteps of the people, the Prime Minister has lit up 100% of the electricity. Now every village in the country is now full of development. Apart from health advice, 27 types of medicines are being given by setting up 14,000 community clinics in the country. In the past, about 9 crore marginalized people of the country have received medical services. Family planning services are now offered through four types of instruments in community clinics. The scope of treatment has been increased by increasing the beds of Upazila Health Complex. Marginalized people are getting specialist medical services easily through telemedicine facility in these health centers. Modern eye care services are available at the Vision Center. People’s leader Sheikh Hasina is working to fulfill the cherished dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Apart from fulfilling the basic needs of the people, all kinds of steps have been taken to improve their quality of life.
This medical service program was organized in Singra by the initiative of Al Basar International Foundation in collaboration with King Faisal Foundation and Relief Center of Saudi Arabia. For the third time, 5000 patients have received treatment in this eye care camp. Later patients will undergo cataract surgery free of cost.
President of Upazila Awami League Advocate Sheikh Ohidur Rahman and Singra Municipality Mayor Jannatul Ferdous also spoke in the program chaired by the Al Basar International Foundation Country Director Dr. Ahmed Tahir Hamid.
