Last February, Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphone was unveiled with 200 megapixel high resolution camera. The South Korean company has not used that sensor in any smartphone since then. But now a source claims that Samsung plans to unveil three new and more powerful camera sensors next year, including a 440-megapixel sensor.
According to tipster sources, Samsung is developing a 50-megapixel GN6 sensor with 1.6 micrometer pixel size and a 200-megapixel HP7 sensor with 0.6 micrometer pixel size. But the most interesting is the 440-megapixel HU1 sensor, whose pixel size is yet to be confirmed.
All three sensors are expected to go into mass production in the second half of 2024. But Riveganus said the company has no plans to use these sensors in its own phones right now.
