Walton organized 3-day long ‘International Advanced Components and Technology (ATS) Expo-2023’ has started in Dhaka. The Expo will continue till Saturday. Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi inaugurated the Expo at the Hall-1 of International Convention City Bashundhara-ICCB on Thursday morning.
Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC Director SM Mahbubul Alam presided over the inaugural ceremony while the BSEC Chairman Prof. Shibli Rubaiyat-ul-Islam, FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam, Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Sameer Sattar and Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC MD & CEO. Golam Murshed were present as special guests.
While speaking at the inaugural ceremony, the Minister of Commerce commented on Walton as an icon of Bangladesh. “Walton is a wonder and a beacon to us,” he said. They have saved the country billions of dollars in import costs. Apart from creating a large amount of employment, exports are contributing to the country’s income and economic progress. The event was conducted by Walton’s Senior Executive Director, Film star Amin Khan.
On the occasion, Walton Hi-Tech Industries Director SM Mahbubul Alam said, Walton’s highly trained, skilled engineers are manufacturing more than 50,000 industrial materials and components in state-of-the-art machinery.
The aim of this initiative of organizing the ATS Expo is to showcase these components, so that these components can be used by other industries of the country as well. If domestic companies use each other’s manufactured components, the cost of production will be greatly reduced. The growth and capacity of the domestic industry will increase greatly. If we all work together, the economic prosperity of the country will be achieved quickly.
Golam MurshedMurshed, Managing Director and CEO of Walton said that, it is the first time in the history of Bangladesh that a single Bangladeshi brand has organized a demonstration of its technology and solutions. Through ATS Expo, the potential industries of Bangladesh, the capabilities of domestic industries are being highlighted. Walton will take Bangladesh to a unique height in the world if the government’s policy support and people’s trust are maintained.
Chairman of BSEC Professor Shibli Rubaiyat-ul-Islam said that Walton has played a major role behind the rise of Bangladesh in the electronics industry. They have created thousands of employment opportunities in the country. Walton has now created employment within the country for technical and engineering students. He is hopeful that Walton will go further in innovation and research.
FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam said Bangladesh has come a long way. There is no village without electronics products. Electronics products are everywhere. Walton is the biggest proof that business friendly policy and 100% electrification has been ensured in Bangladesh. Companies like Walton have been able to reach this stage because of the government’s business-friendly policies. Walton is exporting their products to many countries of the world to meet the needs of the country. It is a matter of pride for Bangladesh.
The DCCI President Sameer Sattar said Walton is now the top electrical and electronics brand in the country. They are manufacturing electronics products, industrial materials, components and solutions in the country. They are also serving the backward linkage industry of the country. Walton’s growth in local and international markets is something to be proud of. Walton is making a special contribution to the introduction of ‘Made in Bangladesh’ products in the global market.
Eminent economist Ahsan H Mansoor said, Walton is making more than 50 thousand industrial materials and components, it is really a big deal. Bangladesh’s electronics industry will go further with the help of Walton.
Philippine Ambassador to Dhaka Leo Tito L. Ausan JR. said that, Walton is expanding its business globally. He also called for the expansion of Walton’s business in the Philippine market.
ATS Expo will showcase more than 50,000 international quality industrial materials, components, services and testing facilities manufactured by Walton at a total of 21 stalls in 4 categories. Most of them are used as main raw materials and components in various stages of almost all types of industrial establishments. In addition to meeting its own needs, Walton can contribute to saving billions of dollars in foreign exchange and empowering the domestic industry by providing quality industrial materials, components and testing solutions as import substitutes to other industries in the country by reducing import dependency.
