On the occasion of Eid-ul Fitr, more than 33 thousand intercity train tickets are being sold in advance in two phases every day. On the fourth day, advance ticket sales for April 6 will begin on Wednesday at 8 am. 14,000 tickets were sold out of 16,000 within two and a half hours of ticket sale. And customers have tried 94 lakh 10 thousand times to buy this ticket online.
Kamlapur Railway Station Manager Mohammad Masud Sarwar gave this information at 11 am. He said that the tickets for the western region have been given from Dhaka at 8 am. According to the information received till 10:30 am, 14 thousand 100 tickets have been sold. Eastern zone tickets will be released online at 2 PM.
Earlier on Tuesday, March 26, at 8 am, all the tickets were sold out within 10 minutes of opening the ticket sales platform ‘Sohoz.com’. On this day, April 5 intercity train tickets were sold online. About 43,500 tickets have been sold across the country in the last 10 hours since ticket sales began. About 30,000 of these have been sold from Dhaka.
In the evening, a source from Bangladesh Railway’s ticketing subsidiary Sohoz-Synesis-Vincen JV confirmed the ticket sale. According to sources, 43 thousand 483 out of about 150,000 tickets were sold across the country in 10 hours from 8 am to 6 pm. Besides, 27 thousand 202 out of 33 thousand tickets have been sold from Dhaka.
Besides, 95 lakh 10 thousand hits have been received on the website to buy train tickets for the western region between 8 am and 8:30 am. From 2 pm to 2:30 pm 46 lakh 60 thousand ticket aspirants of Eastern region hit the website.
By observing the website of Bangladesh Railway, it can be seen that there are no tickets for the Silk City, Padma, Dhumketu, Banolota and Madhumati Express trains bound for Rajshahi at 8:00 am on Tuesday. Even before the sale of tickets started at 8 o’clock, there were 288 tickets of Silk City Express train, 70 tickets of Madhumati Express train, 658 tickets of Padma Express train, 353 tickets of Dhumketu and 636 tickets of Banolota Express train.
All tickets for Rangpur Express, Kurigram Express, Panchagarh Express trains were sold out within 3 minutes of the sale. Around 8:30 pm, some train tickets were shown as ‘Available’ but when going to buy, it was found that those tickets were also sold. Earlier, demand was slightly lower on Sunday, the first day of ticket sales. Almost all train tickets were sold out within half an hour of the sale starting on Monday.
