The Great Independence and National Day-2024 was celebrated at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) in various programs including singing of National Anthem, wreath laying at Bijoy Stambha in Jashore city, paying tribute with flowers at the mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The celebrations began at sunrise with the hoisting of the National Flag and the University Flag in front of the University’s administrative building. Then at 9 am the National Anthem was performed in front of the central Shaheed Minar of the university. At 9:30 in the morning, along with teachers and students, officials and employees, the JUST Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain placed wreaths at the mural of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. And then, university teachers’ association, officials, employees’ associations, Shaheed Masiur Rahman Hall and Sheikh Hasina Student Hall also paid tribute to Bangabandhu’s mural on the occasion of the Great Independence and National Day. Apart from this, Jashore Science and Technology University branch Chhatra League, Journalist Association and various social and cultural organizations of the university also paid tribute by placing flowers at Bangabandhu’s mural located at the main gate. The JUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain inaugurated the Student-Teacher Auditorium (TSC) building of the university at 9:30 am.
After the Juhr prayers, special prayers were offered in the central mosque of university for the salvation of the departed souls of the martyrs of the Great War of Independence. Apart from this, the main road and various buildings of the campus have been illuminated on the occasion of the day. On the occasion of Great Independence and National Day, a seminar titled ‘Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s historical leadership and country’s development’ has been organized in the central gallery of the university on January 27 at 11 am. JUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain will be present as the chief guest at that event. The former vice-chancellor of Jagannath University Dr. Mizanur Rahman will speak as the main speaker in the seminar. The seminar will be presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Iqbal Kabir Zahid, President of the Teachers’ Association of JUST.
