Ridesharing app Uber launched driver subscription from Tuesday to increase reliability for passengers and reduce the number of offline trips. As a result, from now on, Uber Moto drivers can choose the plan of their choice from various subscription plans. Uber hopes that this will reduce incidents of drivers directly asking passengers for money and asking them to take ‘offline’ trips.
Uber India and South Asia Head of City Operations Abhishek Upadhyay said, the offline trips can lead to frequent trip cancellations and bad experiences with drivers. Taking such a trip means that none of the Uber app’s safety features or insurance policies will work.
He said, “We are delighted to launch the subscription for Uber Moto Driver Partners in Dhaka. We are aware of the security risks associated with offline trips. This subscription will improve the experience of both passengers and drivers. Drivers are the lifeblood of our business. We will work to create opportunities for them to live a sustainable life by emphasizing safety, innovation and convenience.”
Uber authorities have said that drivers can enjoy 0% service fee on every trip if they choose the subscription package according to their convenience. Thousands of Uber drivers ply the streets of Dhaka every day. The subscription service will provide an excellent experience to both passengers and drivers and enhance their safety on the road.
It may be informed that, the subscription service is available in the new version of the Driver app. There are subscription plans for different durations like daily, three days. Drivers can enjoy unlimited offers and trips during the subscription period. Along with security and insurance coverage.
