State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak has distributed 61 lakh taka in cash in favor of 108 institutions for the development of various religious, educational and public welfare institutions promised in Singra Upazila under the Rural Infrastructure Maintenance (TR) program in the financial year 2023-2024.
On Tuesday, the state minister inaugurated the program being connected virtually to his constituency from the conference center of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).
While speaking as the chief guest, he said that, the amount of grants disbursed in the last 15 years for 700 mosques and 345 educational institutions of Nator will surpass even the total grans allotted for Nator in the previous 50 years by all the governments and MPs. This process also will be continued in the future.
Highlighting the ongoing development activities, Palak said that 5 huge projects have been undertaken at a cost of around Tk 500 crore between Singra Municipality and Sherkol. The work of Sheikh Russell Mini Stadium will start soon. The work of Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center has been completed. The technical training center has been completed. The construction work of Technical School and College has been completed. Now the construction of a huge knowledge park is going on at a fast pace.
Apart from this, a project worth Tk 4.5 billion for roads and bridges and the project to build a smart network of Tk 800 crore are now under consideration in the Ministry of Local Government, said local parliamentarian and state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak.
Singra Upazila Acting Upazila Nirbahi Officer Borhan Uddin Mithu presided over the event; concerned Project Officer Al Amin, Upazila Awami League President Advocate Ohidur Rahman Sheikh and others were also present in the event among others.
