The construction of 89.92 km long ‘400 KV Single Circuit Transmission Line’ has been completed from Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant under construction in Pakshi Union of Ishwardi Upazila to Bogra (West) 400/230 KV grid substation. On Tuesday (30 April) at 11 am, the line was put into operation on a trial basis.
Earlier on Monday night, a warning message was given informing the commissioning of the third transmission line in a circular signed by PGCB IDRNPP Project Director Engineer Md. Masudul Islam. The message said that the transmission line will remain operational after the trial inauguration. Due to this, the people of some areas of Pabna, Nator and Bogura districts are requested to refrain from risky activities such as climbing the transmission line tower, tying cattle, drying clothes by tying ropes on the tower, planting bamboo and big trees under and beside the line.
At the same time everyone has been requested to stay at a safe distance (23 meters on both sides) from the 400 KV transmission lines. PGCB will not be responsible if anyone gets electrocuted by coming in contact with these high voltage transmission lines or towers.
It may be noted that, new lines have been installed in Pakshi, Salimpur and Muladuli Unions of Iswardi Upazila of Pabna District; in Gopalpur, Nagar, Majhgaon and Baraigram Unions of Baraigram Upazila of Natore District; Nazirpur Union of Gurdaspur Upazila and Chamari, Kolom, Chowgram and Ramanand Khajura Unions of Singra Upazila.
