After the announcement of Digital Bangladesh in 2009, only 1.5 percent were educated in technical education. But now our target in Digital Bangladesh was 20 percent. Out of this, we managed to go to 17 percent. The government plans to raise the technical literacy rate to 30 percent by 2030 and 50 percent of the core population by 2040 aiming the Smart Bangladesh goal.
This information was given in a seminar organized on the occasion of the celebration of Technical and Vocational Education Week held on the theme ‘Smart Technical Education, Smart Youth and Smart Bangladesh’ in Feni on Tuesday (May 30). Computer Science and Technology Instructor of Feni Computer Institute Md. Nakibul Hasan presented the main article in the seminar organized by the Computer Institute in the hall of the academic building.
The event was presided over by the Feni Computer Institute Principal Mazharul Islam Chowdhury, while the Executive Engineer of Feni Education Engineering Department Israt Nusrat Siddika, Feni District Education Officer Md. Shafi Ullah were present as special guests.
Delegates from various institutions delivered speeches in the seminar while conducted by Feni Computer Institute Chief Instructor (Tech) Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun.
In the seminar, the speakers said that digital Bangladesh is now visible, the manual work is gone. All types of allowances, scholarships, old age allowances, widow allowances, disabled allowances are going online, job applications and all bank jobs too are found online, rent, municipal bills, electricity bills including prepaid meters, there is no department that does not have online facilities. All government and private offices now have online facilities, are being managed digitally.
