On the dawn of Great Martyrs Day and International Mother Language Day, Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak laid wreaths in memory of language martyrs at Central Shaheed Minar of his constituency Singra. At the end of Tuesday’s zero hours, a minute’s silence was observed honoring the souls of all the martyrs.
Apart from the mystery of time, thriller-like realistic novelist and fiction writer Professor Esrar Latif, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mahmuda Khatun, Union Chairman Shafiqul Islam, Municipal Mayor Jannatul Ferdous, Upazila Awami League president Ahidur Rahman Sheikh were present.

After paying tribute to the memory of the valiant freedom fighters and language martyrs of the Upazila, the state minister vowed to fulfill Bangabandhu’s unfinished dream of becoming golden men.
Commemorating the historic sacrifices of the language martyrs, Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, twenty-one (21st February) means not bowing head down, twenty-one means to protest against injustice. Let us tell the history of language movement and liberation war to our future generation. Awakened in the consciousness of Ekush (21st), I dedicated myself to build Bangabandhu’s Sonar Bangla.
