A bulletproof car has been added as an exhibit at the National Museum of Science and Technology. This Mercedes Benz car was recently collected from the Prime Minister’s office. The museum authorities took the initiative to collect the car in the science museum.
The vehicle has been placed in the lobby adjacent to the Industrial Technology Gallery of the Science Museum, said Museum Documentation Officer Hadisur Rahman.
He told DigiBangla on Monday that the car is worth around six (6) crore taka and weighs around 3.5 metric tons. The science museum authorities have taken the initiative to place the vehicle on a platform to make the exhibition aesthetically pleasing to the visitors.
Meanwhile, Director General of National Museum of Science and Technology Mohammad Munir Chowdhury has expressed hope that this car used by the President and the Prime Minister will make history as an important milestone in the history of science museum exhibits. He said, “Bulletproof car is a product of scientific invention.
People need to have an idea about how the most important persons of the state are protected in these vehicles. How bulletproof cars are secured is an unknown chapter for science students. Over time, these vehicles or objects become part of history. Preserving that history and heritage is an important aspect of museum management.”
