To ensure the digital transformation of the postal services and to build a sustainable eco-system in the digital business sector the Digital Delivery Infrastructure is being added. The postal service sector of the government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the E-Post Software on Monday to build this infrastructure. E-Post will create a digital eco-system by expanding the range of digital business through post offices in different parts of the country by creating digital solutions for product supply infrastructure and tracking systems.
In the presence of Posts and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar in the ‘Dak Bhaban’ of Agargaon, Director of Postal Directorate SM Harunur Rashid on behalf of their respective organizations and Mohammad Abdul Waheed Tamal on behalf of E-Post Software signed the agreement.
Pursuant to the agreement, E-Post Software Limited will provide digital solutions for the expansion of e-commerce services to various offices of the postal department across the country. And it has been informed at the signing ceremony that the country’s largest e-commerce brand Daraz and other delivery platforms will soon be added to this platform.
Referring to this agreement as a ‘milestone’ in the expansion of digital commerce, the chief guest of the event, Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Mustafa Jabbar, said that new horizons have been opened for the country’s e-commerce sector. Because, through this agreement, in the continuation of the digital transformation of the services of the post offices, marginal people will get the products purchased from the digital shop at a low cost. In this system, it will be possible to deliver products through various hubs centered on 10,000 post offices in the country. Automated tracking system will also make it easy to locate where the customer’s product is. Each post office will have a separate corner for e-commerce from which products will be sorted, trucked and delivered to the customer at the earliest.
The agreement signing ceremony was attended by Sebastian Rema, Post and Telecommunication Department Joint Secretary, Postal Directorate Director General Md Helal Uddin, Additional Director General (Postal Service) SM Shahab Uddin, Daraz Bangladesh Chief Operating Officer and e-CAB Director Khandkar Tasfin Alam and others.
