In the first quarter of 2022 (January-March 2022), popular short video sharing platform TikTok has removed 3.5 million videos from Bangladesh. Moreover, the organization has strengthened its community support and safety center. This information has been reported in the latest community guidelines enforcement report for the first quarter of TikTok 2022.
According to the report, 95.8 percent of content from Bangladesh has been removed before anyone sees it, and 97.9 percent is removed within 24 hours. The video removal rate for protection is 99.2; 34 lakh 75 thousand 456 videos have been removed from Bangladesh.
Bangladesh ranks 8th in the world in total number of removed videos on TikTok in the first quarter. 1 crore 40 lakh 44 thousand 224 videos were removed from USA. Which is the first in the world. Besides, 1 crore 24 lakh 90 thousand 309 videos have been removed from Pakistan.
The report also said that in the first quarter, 41 thousand 191 videos about the Russia-Ukraine war were removed, of which 87 percent violated policies and spread false information. In addition, TikTok has labeled 49 media outlets controlled by Russia. The platform also identified 6 networks and removed them and closed 204 accounts worldwide due to various opinions and misrepresentation of users.
