For the first time after the inauguration, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina went to her village home Tungipara in Gopalganj via Padma Bridge. She was accompanied by her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy and daughter Saima Wazed Putul.
On the way, she paid the toll at Mawa Toll Plaza at 8:48 am on Monday and crossed the bridge till Jazira end of the Padma Bridge at around 9:15 am and posed for a selfie with her family.
Sheikh Hasina spent some time in the middle of the bridge with her children. At that time, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took a selfie with her son on the camera of her daughter Saima Wazed Putul. Sajeeb Wazed Joy posted the photo on his own verified Facebook page around 12:30 pm.
According to the schedule, the Prime Minister was scheduled to leave for Dhaka in the afternoon after reciting Doa and Fateha to pay homage to the tomb of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and seek forgiveness of the souls of the martyred members of his family.
On June 25, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the dream Padma Bridge, a dream come true for 21 districts of the south-western part of the country. After crossing the much awaited Padma Multipurpose Bridge for traffic, she crossed the bridge paying toll duly. She was first person to pay the toll. But before that, the she stood on the opening altar with her daughter and took a selfie over there.
