Uber has been licensed to continue its ride-sharing service in London for 30 months or two and a half years. This put an end to Uber’s long battle with Transport for London (TFL), the city’s transport company, over Uber’s security protocol. News The Verge.
In a tweet on Sunday, Uber said: “We are pleased to announce that TFL has issued a new 30-month license to Uber in London. TFL regulates our sector to the best of its ability and works to maintain safety standards. We are very happy to meet their conditions. ”
The regulator revoked Uber’s license in London for the first time in 2017, citing a lack of social responsibility. Uber gets 15 months to appeal to the court. In 2019, TFL revoked Uber’s license again.
In 2020, the court granted Uber an 18-month license to conduct business in London. Over the years, Uber has been working to improve their security features. Initiatives are taken to ensure the safety of both the passenger and the driver during the trip.
