The colorful inauguration of ‘ICT Division Presents Petromax LPG 5th DRMC International Tech Carnival 2022’ took place on Friday, March 18, at Dhaka Residential Model College.
NM Zeaul Alam, Senior Secretary, ICT Department was present at the inaugural function. Thousands of students from 250 famous schools and colleges of the country participated in the three-day carnival.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh graced the occasion as the Chief Guest at the Closing Ceremony of the Carnival on Sunday afternoon, March 20, and was presided over by Brigadier General Kazi Shamim Farhad, Principal of the College.
Speaking as the chief guest, State Minister for ICT Palak said that the wide range of International Tech Carnival organized by Dhaka Residential Model College to connect the new generation with the invaluable contribution of information technology in the development of human civilization is immense in the interest of young students. I believe that he will show the way to develop as a good citizen.
He further said, “Students from more than 250 educational institutions across the country including Dhaka metropolis have participated in the IT Carnival. Also students from different foreign educational institutions participated which is an inspiration for us. For this I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the organizers, partner organization and the students participating in the International Tech Carnival. Teachers and parents have inspired you with time and encouragement from behind the scenes. So, I like to take this opportunity to thank especially your teachers and parents.
Russell Ahmed, Lecturer in ICT Department of the College and Convener of the Carnival, senior government and non-government officials, invited guests, parents, students, teachers, officials and employees of various educational institutions were also present on the occasion.
Among some other arrangements, they had a Workshop on ‘Robotics and Artificial Intelligence’. The chief guest of the workshop was Dr. Abdul Mannan, Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer Council, PAA and keynote speaker was Rudmila Nowshin, Founder and CEO of Config VR; Md. Belayet Hossain Talukder, Additional Secretary, Department of Secondary and Higher Education was the chief guest and Md. Rezaul Maqsood Jahedi, Director General, Department of ICT was the chief guest at the seminar on ‘Achievements in ICT Sector of Bangladesh’.
Md. Khairul Amin, Director General of Digital Security Agency was the chief guest at the seminar titled ‘Digital Literacy’ and Mainul Islam, Associate Professor, Department of CSE, Dhaka University was the special guest. The three-day Tech Carnival was aimed at involving the younger generation in the future plans of Digital Bangladesh and encouraging the newcomers to implement the vision of 2041.
