Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (BTAC) is going to start immediate monitoring of the activities of mobile operators by installing necessary equipment including MTS and DB panels in its office and using software. This activity is going to start officially very soon.
Earlier on Monday, BTRC Chairman Shyam Sundar Sikder observed the pilot activities of the Telecom Monitoring System (TMS). He expressed satisfaction over the overall progress of the activities after talking to the officials of the Engineering and Operations Department of the Commission during the visit. At the same time, the BTRC chief directed the concerned officials to complete the process of launching TMS as soon as possible.
BTRC Legal and Licensing Commissioner Abu Syed Diljar Hossain, Director General Brigadier General Md. Ehsanul Kabir, Ashish Kumar Kundu and Engineer Md. Mesbahuzzaman along with concerned engineers and officials were present on the occasion.
BTRC informed that with the launch of TMS, the process of collecting and reporting information on voice and data traffic, network usage and quality of service from mobile operators will be automated. At the same time it will be possible to observe all the necessary information in real time.
He then inspected the office rooms and its management, overall environment and discipline of the office, management and storage of valuable parts, office attendance and guest rooms of the employees of different departments / directorates / branches of the Commission as part of regular visits.
