Smartphone users are turning towards Electronics SIM (e-SIM). Following Apple, Google too is bringing dedicated e-SIM conversion tools to its Pixel devices. News TechRadar
According to the news, Google launched the e-SIM transfer tool in the Pixel 8 smartphone lineup in October 2023. The latest Android 14 beta 3 version has seen code to bring the e-SIM conversion tool. SIM Manager app allows easy conversion from physical to e-SIM during initial phone setup.
E-SIM is essentially an alternative to the current SIM card. It acts as a chip inside the smartphone. But it only facilitates the use of a network. But Google has already introduced the feature of using two networks with one e-SIM.
For Android devices on Android 14 Beta 3 update, one has to go to the phone’s Settings option to enable the e-SIM Transfer Tool feature. There they have to enter SIM settings from network and internet option and select mobile network. After that the SIM conversion process will start.
