A special seminar on ‘science and technology to prevent wastage of electricity’ in the country was held on Tuesday at the National Science and Technology Museum auditorium in Agargaon in the capital. Suklan Bachar, senior curator of the organization, presented the main article in the seminar. Besides, DPDC’s Manager Training and Supervising Engineer Md. Mohibul Alam also spoke.
While speaking as the chief guest, Mohammad Munir Chowdhury, Director General of National Science and Technology Museum called for prevention of wastage and theft in the power sector. In this case, he emphasizes on honesty and ethics apart from technology.
Munir Chowdhury said, “In the era of the 4th industrial revolution, a society cannot run only with robots. Humans are the driving force behind robots. So if that person behind is honest, unpolluted and ethical, success will come in all fields.”
The director general also said, “In the past, people were used to living a difficult life in the absence of electricity. But now many are wasting the abundance of electricity, which is very expensive. Even some of the educated citizens are stealing electricity by misusing technology, evading revenue, there should be strict monitoring of electricity workers to prevent these crimes. As a state institution, DPDC’s salary allowances and facilities are very high, yet anyone involved in corruption should be severely punished. No one can enjoy the money or wealth obtained through corruption. One has to give up luxurious buildings and riches and appear before the great Creator with the burden of guilt in the end of the life. This is the last judgment and punishment that one must believe.
After the seminar, DPDC trainees visited the science museum.
