The first two-day ‘Bangladesh Startup Summit 2023’ started on Saturday morning at Ruposhi Bangla Grand Ballroom of Hotel InterContinental in the capital under the theme ‘Smart Bangladesh, Endless Possibilities’. At the entrance to the Ballroom and Crystal Ballroom of this five-star hotel, innovative startups such as app-based health care Moner Bandhu, Made in Bangladesh EV car- Palki, three-wheeler auto rickshaw, drink well water ATM appeared in the conference.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited the smart initiatives before inaugurating the conference. After that, the ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak made a presentation on the recognition of the progress of Bangladesh in the eyes of the world in the last 14 years in front of the Prime Minister at the opening stage. He showed the relevant statistics.
Sami Ahmed, Managing Director of Startup Bangladesh, a state-owned venture capital institution, delivered a welcome speech at the opening ceremony. The State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak presided over the event. The ICT Secretary Md. Samsul Arefin also spoke. The Minister of State for ICT presented a 35-year-old bonsai tree to the Prime Minister on the occasion.
Over 100 global VCs/investors, national-international level speakers and 600 startups joined the conference in two days. 40 different sessions are scheduled to be held in two days. After the inauguration, there will be 19 sessions on the first day and 21 sessions on the final day including seminars, interviews, fire side chats and networking. These sessions are being held on fintech, biztech, edutech, healthtech and software services and investment in women’s initiatives. This meeting of investment with innovation and entrepreneurship with the future will end on Sunday evening.
