Bangladesh won a whopping five awards including three bronze medals in the 64th International Mathematics Olympiad held at Makuhari Messe Auditorium, Chiba. The bronze medal winners were Nuzhat Ahmed of Viquarunnisa Noon School and College (24 marks), SMA Nahian of Dhaka College (24 marks), Shahriar Hossain of RCCI Public School and College, Rangpur (20 marks).
Also, those who got honorable recognition are – Debapriya Saha Roy of Ananda Mohan College, Mymensingh (17 marks) and Jitendra Barua (16 marks) of Ispahani Public School and College, Chattogram. Besides, another member of the team Imad Uddin Ahmad of Kushtia Government College got (9 marks).
Under the sponsorship of Dutch-Bangla Bank and overall management of Prothom Alo, the Math Olympiad was organized nationwide. From there six member Bangladesh Mathematics Team was selected for 64th International Mathematics Olympiad. Bangladesh Mathematics Olympiad Committee has organized the team selection and related events.
