The 28th Dhaka International Trade Fair is going to be started from tomorrow, Sunday, January 21, 2024. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has consented to inaugurate the fair. Apart from this, there are various development projects including Rooppur Nuclear Power Station, Metro Rail, Padma Bridge. Bangabandhu Pavilion has been constructed in the fair in the model of Dhanmondi House No. 32, where Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is buried There are 350 stalls in 10 categories in the fair. There are different types of stalls with the participation of 12 countries.
Meanwhile, the day before the inauguration, Saturday (January 20, 2024), the State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam visited the fair grounds. He observed the final preparations of the fair at the Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center.
The Minister of State for Commerce visited the pavilion of electronics manufacturers in Hall ‘A’ of the main canopy of the fair. At that time Vista Electronics Chairman Shamsul Alam and Managing Director Lokman Hossain Akash talked to Ahsanul Islam and informed the state minister that Vista Electronics is a Bangladeshi manufacturing company registered in Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City. The state minister was also informed that Vista, the company that manufactures and markets the highest quality electronics products in the country, is going to be exported to the world market soon. An aesthetic pavilion of Vista Electronics has been set up at the entrance of the fair.
Farid Ahmed, information officer of Export Development Bureau (EPB), said that almost all the pavilions and stalls have been allocated. Hope the fair will be held in a grand manner.
State Minister for the ministry of Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu said that almost all the preparations for the fair have been completed. It cannot be said at this moment that how much revenue will be collected from this fair. It will be understood when the fair is over.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of the Prime Minister’s arrival, all kinds of security measures have been taken by the members of the law enforcement forces. The Presidential Guard Regiment (PGR) and the District Police are working for security along with the police since last Thursday.
This is a state-of-the-art children’s park to accommodate the children coming to the fair this year. There are 5 watch towers along with CC cameras so that there is no problem in the fair. As Sheikh Hasina Sarni Road has been completely opened for coming and going to the trade fair from Kuril, the capital entrance, the visitors from the capital and the surrounding areas will be able to travel smoothly to the fair this time.
This year, the entry ticket price for adults in the fair has been fixed at 50 taka, and the ticket price for children is 20-25 taka. The fair will be open daily from 9 am to 9 pm. Holidays will be open from 9 am to 10 pm. The fair authorities expect the number of visitors to the fair to be more than other years.
Notably, the Ministry of Commerce and Export Development Bureau-EPB are the joint organizers of the fair.
