Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) of the ICT Division of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh will take activities for the empowerment of the digital technology of the backward communities of the country’s Transgenders. On Monday, (January 16, 2023) a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed by BCC with experienced NGO organization Bandhu Social Welfare Society, Dhaka for the welfare of transgenders.
BCC Executive Director (Grade-1) Mr. Ranajit Kumar was present as the chief guest at the MoU signing ceremony held at the meeting room of BCC at the ICT Tower of Agargaon, Dhaka,
During this time, the Executive Director of the Bandhu Social Welfare Society Mr. Saleh Ahmed, and other officials of the organization were present.
The heads of the two organizations agreed to involve the transgender population in the mainstream of development of the country by empowering and different job opportunities through skill development through information technology training.
Addressing the chief guest at the event, Mr. Ranajit Kumar highlighted the necessity and importance of transgenders for a country and society. He expressed optimism that this program undertaken by BCC will play a supporting role towards the realization of the dream of the Honorable Prime Minister of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to build a Smart Bangladesh by 2041 by building an inclusive society with everyone “leaving no one behind”.
BCC Director (Training and Development) Mr. Md. Abu Sayed, BCC Secretary Mr. Mohammod Rashedul Islam and other officials were present at the program.
