“One of the main objectives of higher education is to contribute to the national economy by producing skilled and qualified human resources who are employable and can gainfully be hired by the corporate and development sectors. Mr. Prasenjit Chakma, Assistant Resident Representative, UNDP Bangladesh opined that ‘Futunation –DIU Job Utshob 2022’enabled young job aspirants to avail 3000 job opportunities at the same time provided skills training and self –assessment opportunities to 20,400 youths and same time connect them with 200 potential employers from the private sectors. He said these while addressing as the special fguest at the closing ceremony of Job Utsob in Daffodil International University (DIU) at Birulia, Savar.
With the presence of numerous stakeholders from academia and industry the event played a major role in facilitating sustainable academia-industry collaboration inside the country, he added. He also stressed that, we must work towards converting our youth into capable human capital and employing them in an effective manner for productive purposes. To do so, he emphasized, to encourage more initiatives like today’s Job Utshob sothat the youth can calibrate their education and skills to the needs of the workforce market.
DIU and UNDP’s Futurenation Project jointly organized the biggest job festival of 2022 in Bangladesh, Futurenation DIU Job Utshob 2022, from 01 to 03 December 2022 at the campus, close to capital Dhaka. Employers from 200 organizations were present with more than 3000 Job offers at the Job Utshob. At least 4300 job aspirants from various departments and recent alumni of the university have registered to participate in this three-day job utshob. The job fair will also feature 20,400 students’ self-assessment training and employability skills testing, apart from networking opportunities with alumni and corporate organizations.

Among the 200 employers, Grameenphone, Banglalink, BRAC Bank, bKash, Pran Group, Le Meridian, ICDDRB, Metrocem, BASIS, US Bangla group, Creative IT, Roxi Paint, DataSoft, Akij Food and Beverage, 10 Minute School and many more are present, both for the interviews and for showcasing their products and services through a mega exhibition at the campus.
