From Tuesday, users are facing trouble to access private and public websites of Bangladesh’s national identity. It has been reported that this problem has been occurring since night because of a sudden error in three domain servers controlled by Bangladesh Telecommunication Company Limited (BTCL).
According to sources, BTCL engineers have already started troubleshooting. The agency expects the problem to be fully resolved by 11:30 a.m.
However, a network admin working in a private bank suggested using 8.26.56.26 as an alternative DNS to access the dot Bangla domain. Many people are reported to be getting their work done using this domain address.
According to sources, the root domain network system (DNS) of Bangladesh’s virtual national identity in the online world experienced an error from Tuesday night. As a result, government and private websites under the domains dot gov.bd, dot com dot bd and dot Bangla showed ‘unavailable’ online from night to Wednesday morning. Sometimes one shows up and the other cannot be accessed. However, the situation started to relax a bit from the morning.
The media spokesperson of BTCL, Mir Mohammad Morshed, said that the engineers are working to solve the technical error on the server. The problem will be solved in no time. Dot Bangla is totally OK. .com.bdo was also operational by morning. Anytime .bd too will be fully live.
According to the sources, websites which end with .gov.bd, .bangla or .com.bd are controlled from BTCL’s servers. Almost all the ministry websites of the country are made with these domains. As a result, users cannot access them. Apart from this, many private websites including e-commerce companies Daraz, Evaly and news agency UNB are controlled by these domains and cannot be accessed.
