In order to make the members of BACCO aware of outsourcing process of government procurement, the organization arranged a workshop in a conference center in Dhaka on 10th and 11th of February. Bangladesh Association of Contact Center and Outsourcing (BACCO) organized the workshop titled ‘Government Procurement System for Services’.
BACCO has been organizing this type of workshops every year for the past six years for the benefit of the members and their great interest. A total of 48 representatives from 44 BACCO member organizations participated in this workshop for the seventh time.
Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority Deputy Director (Planning) and Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Project Director Engineer Mohammad Atiqul Islam provided training in the workshop.
The workshop ended with the awarding of certificates to all the trainees at the closing ceremony on February 11. In his closing speech, BACCO Joint General Secretary Md. Tanjirul Bashar thanked the workshop trainers, the trainees and the sponsor of the workshop ‘ICT Business Promotion Council (IBPC)’ for making the program lively, fruitful and meaningful. IBPC Executive Officer Md. Faisal Khan was also present in the workshop.
One of the sectors of the BPO industry is ‘Government Process Outsourcing’; Through which the government institutions can ensure better citizen services. If the government institutions of the country are able to outsource their customer service, data entry, social and digital media management, IT support, public surveys and various types of work from private IT service providers, the quality of service will increase; Citizen satisfaction will also be ensured. But due to lack of knowledge or vague understanding of public procurement, many organizations are denied the opportunity to undertake government outsourcing services despite having the capacity to provide services. Therefore, by organizing such workshops every year, BACCO aims to inform members about the details of government procurement services and increase their participation in this work to a large extent.
