The global platform TikTok recently arranged a ‘#Create on TikTok’ competition. The competition was organized in collaboration with University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) and Dhaka International Mobile Film Festival (DIMFF).
The short films of the top 10 winners were screened at Cineplex situated in SKS Tower of Mohakhali on January 29. Where creative use of TikTok was highlighted in making short films.
Along with film screenings, storytelling techniques in vertical video format were also demonstrated here. The competition is organized by TikTok to encourage content creators to create short films using mobile devices.
The winners of the competition are Abrar Jahin, Rayed Zaqwan, Ahnaf Ali, Ashrafuddin Rahat, Sadiqul Islam, Sheikh Tasin, Isfar Mostakim, Taqdeer Talha, Roni Sharafat and Mohammad Rafsan. They are awarded certificates from TikTok for creating digital content.

Content creators’ films were submitted through DIMFF’s social media pages and a dedicated micro-site on TikTok. The campaign appeared as a new opportunity for filmmakers to showcase their stories to a wider audience. The judges for this campaign were director Shahid Gagan, film critic Sadia Khalid Riti and director Nazmul Hasan Sukarno. The main aim of this campaign was to highlight innovation in digital storytelling.
