In addition to giving any information about the services of the Ministry of Forests and Climate Change, the activities of the National Information and Services Helpline number ‘333-4’ have been inaugurated to report any complaints related to the environment.
Saber Hossain Chowdhury, Minister of Environment, Forests and Hydrological Change, inaugurated this technology service in a meeting related to the construction of ‘Smart Ministry’ at the meeting hall of the Ministry on Tuesday, February 6. State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak was present on the occasion.
Environment Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury, while addressing at the event said, “This Memorandum of Understanding will widen the range of digital initiatives aimed at improving government services, increasing internal efficiency and increasing citizen involvement in addition to reporting citizens’ complaints to the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change.”
State Minister for Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak said on the occasion, “Anyone can complain about pollution, destruction of biodiversity and illegal destruction of forests/mountains and felling of trees. Later the complaint will be sent to the concerned officer’s dashboard.
“The officer will then take necessary action on the complaint and the beneficiaries will get updates through SMS or call 333.”
At the event, a ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ was signed between A2I, IEC Department and Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change to facilitate cooperation and coordination in its overall digital transformation with the aim of making the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change a smart ministry.
On behalf of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, the Secretary of the Ministry Farhina Ahmed and Project Director Md. Mamunur Rashid Bhuya signed the MoU on behalf of A2I.
